History and Charm of the House
Built in 1925, our house reflects the history and culture of São Miguel. With its traditional architecture, the house has been a family home for generations, bearing witness to many important stories and moments. In 2022, we began a renovation project, respecting the original structure and preserving historical elements, while incorporating all the modern amenities to meet the needs of our visitors.
Remodelling
The remodelling was carried out with great care and attention to detail, to ensure that the historic character of the house was maintained. We used high-quality materials, many of which are local, and collaborated with regional craftsmen to restore original elements such as:
- Volcanic stone walls: Restored to maintain the authenticity of the building.
- Wooden Doors and Windows: Refurbished and fitted with double glazing for better insulation.
- High Ceilings and Exposed Beams: Maintained to provide a cosy, traditional atmosphere.
